We offer General English programmes at four levels: Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate & Upper Intermediate.  We offer individual (one student to one teacher) or small group tuition (four to six students), allowing us to ensure maximum focus on individual learning requirements.  Learners on group programmes may choose to supplement the morning programme with individual, one-to-one lessons that take place in the afternoon.

General English Tutors & Facilitators

All of our tutors and facilitators are educated to degree level and are experienced in teaching English as a Foreign Language. They are selected on the basis of their EFL (English as a Foreign Language) qualifications, but also on the basis of their professional, academic or social experience and interests.  It is important that our tutors and facilitators are able to comfortably engage in conversation and debate on the topics and ideas of interest to their learners. Their role is to assist, aid, guide, and empower you in the learning process. 

Programme Schedules

All General English programmes comprise fifteen hours of formal tuition per week, normally concluding by 1.00pm, with a total of thirty minutes break during the morning. 

This allows learners to combine morning tuition with afternoon activities and to join any of the mid-week and weekend excursions organised by Doolin Language Centre.  It also allows the opportunity to supplement morning progarmmes with additional individual tuition in the afternoons.
